Integration

Follow Up Boss integration

Follow Up Boss is where a lot of US agents already live, so it stays the system of record. The assistant reads enough to avoid duplicates and writes the four objects that make a conversation findable later.

What syncs

Objects synced withFollow Up Boss
ObjectDirectionDetail
PeopleRead and createMatched on phone and email first. A new inquiry from a known number updates that person instead of creating a second one.
NotesCreateOne note per conversation holding the full transcript plus the qualifying answers in a fixed order.
TasksCreateA single next-step task with a due date, assigned to the agent who owns the lead.
AppointmentsCreateWritten when a showing is booked, with the address and the attendee.
StagesOptional writeOff by default. Turn it on and choose which stage a qualified lead moves to.

Setup

  1. In Follow Up Boss, create an API key for this integration rather than reusing one.
  2. Paste the key into Settings, Integrations, Follow Up Boss. Nothing syncs until you confirm.
  3. Pick the user that owns new people created by the assistant.
  4. Choose which of the four writes you want: person, note, task, appointment.
  5. Run a test lead from the connection screen and check the record it produced.
  6. Turn on live traffic for one lead source first, then the rest.

Limits worth knowing first

  • Custom field mapping is limited to the fields the API exposes.
  • Historical conversations are not backfilled. Writing starts the day you connect.
  • Rate limits are set by the vendor. Bursts are queued and retried, and failures show in the sync log.

Before you go live

  • Check for an existing auto-responder on the same lead route.
  • Send a test lead and open the record it created.
  • Start with one lead source, not all of them.
Vendor names are used here to describe compatibility. They do not imply a partnership or an endorsement. API behavior and account requirements are set by each vendor and change without notice, so verify the current state with them before you plan around it.

See what it sends before you decide anything

The live demo runs the full flow in your browser. No account, no card, nothing to connect. If the wording is not yours, that is the point of reading it first.

Accounts are not open yet. Joining the waitlist takes an email address and nothing else.
